Brave hero.
Miranda warnings are not read until you are being interrogated. Supreme Court precedent is clear on that point, so your warnings would not be read until such time as law enforcement was actually trying to discover what happened by asking you. Since they watched you break the law, divining what just happened probably wasn't high on their list.
