You are spot on, Adam. Slope, Gook, Kraut, Jap, ... and so it goes. We can never kill anyone we value and respect ... no matter how we try to rationalize. It seems to be the dark side of human nature. We see this kind of behavior with lower animals, too. Have you ever had neighbor dogs who barked and growled at you no matter how many times you walked past them in their territory? This is not to say there are those loveable dogs and cats who run up to you to give you some loving. It is tough being a cocker spaniel in a pit bull world!
